A Scientifically Consistent God

Let’s run a thought experiment. What image appears in your mind when you hear the word “God”? A magic man in the sky that we have to gather in congregations to shout praises and prayers to fulfill our dreams, a being that created the whole world in 7 days, an existing entity that can bring the dead to life? Maybe you believed these stories when you were younger, but realized this concept isn’t logically consistent as you age. If God is the person we were taught to believe in from the Bible, would we need to pray to Him? Isn’t he meant to know what we want? It was written in the Bible that he created the world in 7 days, but from deduction, it only addresses the earth. How long did it take him to create Jupiter? Mars? or Venus? Did the writers of the Bible know they existed? Heaven is supposed to be in the sky, and hell is underground, but we have yet to see any evidence.

Any rational mind could easily find the flaws and inconsistencies within this narrative, which has made numerous people, especially scientists, become atheists. Religion has created a concept of “God” that is not rooted in reality. Logical humans are beginning to notice this, so they shy away from the idea of “God” and move towards atheism, which is defined as “a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods, but also that isn’t a coherent narrative.

I had a conversation with a few individuals. Someone asked, “Why does God not answer the prayers of the shoemaker?” and someone replied that if God answers the prayers of the shoemaker who would make the shoes, the individual further emphasized that not everyone is born equal. It made me reflect, what does he mean that everyone is not born equal? We are all human beings; everyone is made of flesh and blood. We are all unique, but we are all the same. The God described in the Bible is a being that views all as equal, and everyone should be blessed equally; however, the reality of life is that this is not the case. One thing I’ve learnt is that nature is consistent; there will be poor people, rich people, scientists, farmers, geniuses, dullards, addicts, and everything else. There is a popular meme that shows every skill, ability, and talent is on a bell curve; in a magical and fantastical world, everyone would be blessed equally, but that doesn’t reflect reality. Who ever created this universe and humans knew that everyone couldn’t be blessed equally, it seems like it wasn’t 7 days that was used to make the world, the being of the supposed higher power thought about this universe deeply and critically, it wasn’t just a spontaneous creation like the bible is trying to reflect, the being taught deeply in all aspects of the universe which includes scientifically, philosophically, mathematically, theologically and all not mentioned, its not a magical place like the bible tried to make it seem, its a very structured universe. Organized with underlying principles that guide it, with each principle thought about very critically to ensure consistency, and also an environment that would allow stochasticity to occur, like a clearly designed experimental environment.

It’s essential to note that one of the issues is that science has been attempting to explain the nature of reality and, more broadly, the origin of reality; however, we do not seem to have any consistent scientific, philosophical, or ontological explanation without some illogical occurrence at some point. We have the Big Bang theory, but current physics theories cannot explain the moment of the Big Bang. Although you might choose to believe in science, there is a spiritual aspect to humanity that every human cannot seem to shake off; although we are made up of flesh and blood, everyone feels that they have a soul within that we can’t seem to explain.

A version of God has to exist, but perhaps not in the way we have understood it and been explained. I once performed a thought experiment on ontology. We first state that the universe exists, as we are all experiencing it, and from an ontological point of view, everything that is created is with cause, implying that there was a reason and a creator; now that we have established that — we now have to ask the question “Where is the creator?” — an entity that has the power and force to create something of such magnitude cannot go hidden within that universe for about 13.8 billion years; now I can only conclude that the creator of this universe is outside of it. How you decide to interpret this is based on your beliefs. We could be living in a possible simulation, but from an ontological standpoint, God does exist, not just in the way it has been discussed in religion.

I believe there is a God, but a scientifically consistent God. In some way, I think we are enclosed in a mathematical reality where everything is consistent, with parameters, weights, and variables that it is not possible to escape or even change the configuration of these objects unless we terminate it prematurely. Some would say Why is this? Imagine running a high-particle physics simulation on a supercomputer. Once the simulation begins, you cannot interfere with the process; you must wait for it to finish or terminate it early to obtain the final result. The 3D bodies in the simulation can’t escape because they are trapped in their own reality, and the person simulating the fact cannot interfere; they can only observe the progress of the simulation.

This also raises further questions: Who created the person simulating this reality? And who made the reality of the person to simulate their own reality? We cannot answer that question scientifically or philosophically; we must conclude that something illogical happened sometime within this universe. We have struggled to trace the origins of humanity, perhaps because there is no origin. We have also never really noticed that when dreaming, you never really figure out how you got there. Maybe that is how we must reflect on reality: Something was not there, but suddenly appeared.

One thing I believe is that there isn’t any magic man in the sky that the bible has fed to us; There is no miracle happening; everything is set, everything is consistent but this writing isn’t meant to change your perspective of religion but to allow you to think critically about the concept of “God” and i hope i have planted some seeds that could potentially enable you think about the nature of religion, reality, and humanity more dynamically.
